Abstract

this chapter presents Mesopotamian temples in the Hellenistic period Uruk- Babylon Seleucia of Tigris in the context of architecture of Mesopotamia . This study is inspired Rostovtzzef question when he asked his reader in his article how far did the Greeks hellenize Mesopotamia, however, the lack of evidence at that time made it difficult to say how far did the Greeks hellenize Mesopotamia. Now after the excavations and the surveys of the sites of Mesopotamia we can answer the question of Rostovttzef, thus my study id dedicated to solve this problem
Babylon is The first city that flourished under the Seleucids. Several political and military events took place there. It was one of the most religious cities on Mesopotamia. Complex Esagila was the important temple in that period.
