Abstract

The study sought to determine the awareness of the role of societal determinants in the formation of discrimination against women in Egyptian society. Through this objective, women's awareness of the role of societal determinants (family, media, education) in shaping discrimination against women has been revealed in five main areas Cultural sphere - political sphere - economic sphere).
The study used the social survey method in the sample through conducting a field study on a sample of female workers in Mansoura University, both female faculty members and the supporting staff and administrators working at Mansoura University. The field study was applied to a purposeful sample. This approach is used as a tool to measure women's awareness of the role of societal determinants in shaping discrimination against women in Egyptian society.
The researcher has attempted to provide an explanation of the results in the light of the theoretical statements of the feminist trend. The field study resulted in a number of results, the most important of which are in the social field. Four important indicators indicate women's awareness of the role of societal determinants (family, education, media) , And the review of these indicators emphasizes that discrimination against women in the social field is an issue that can be understood in the light of some feminist theories.
