The personal values in a sample of faculty Staff members at Ain Shams University "comparative study"

Abstract

Thisresearch devoted to explore the differences in personal values ​​amongsample of faculty staff members according to (gender - Scientific degree- academic specialization) in the colleges at Ain Shams University. The research is based on the comparative method. The sample consisted of (145) faculty staff member between the ages of (30 - 61 and above) in some colleges at Ain Shams University. They were divided into several groups as follows: According to gender (71 males- 74 females), according to Scientific degree(62 teachers - 34 assistant professors - 49 professors), according to the academic specialization (68 in theoretical colleges - 77 in practical colleges). The results were determined by the method available. Were applied one Scale: The value-scale was was prepared by Abdel-Al 1979. The results of the research showed that there arestatistically significant differences according to gender, where the differences in the direction of males in economic and political value, while differences in the direction of females in religious, social and aesthetic value. And there arestatistically significant differences between the scientific grades in the social value in the direction of the degree of assistant professor, and in the aesthetic value in the direction a teacher degree. There are no statistically significant differences according to the academic specialization on the basis of dimensions.
