Abstract

The rabbinical sages were interested in interpreting the text of Old Testament, and in their interpretive approach they relied on several methods to interpreting the text of Old Testament:
1-    Diving a word into two or more words
2-    Changing the letters of a word
3-    Adding prefixes and suffixes to a word
4-    Changing the diacritics of a word
They set the rules and methods for the investigation and exact determination of the meaning of the Scriptures, they called it Talmudical hermeneutics, which were limited to seven, in the end it reached thirty two rules.
We try to identify some of the Talmudical hermeneutics developed by Rabbinic sages, and how did Amoraim (Jewish scholars of the period from about 200 to 600 CE) apply these rules? And were Rabbinic sages influenced by interpretation of Aristotle or Philo?
The study deals with only to rules: Gematria ( numerical value to a word) and  Notarius (The word acronym).
