Abstract

Literature is always linked to the society in which it was brought up, so the writer cannot separate from his society with his problems and concerns. Therefore, literature is the mirror of society, whether it is prose or non-prose literature.
The Urdu theater is one of the most important forms of prose literature that expresses the society in which it was brought up. Theater has developed a great development in the Indian subcontinent, since its inception in the middle of the nineteenth century until the present time. The play "Inqlab ke baad" is about the personality of the cleric and his influence on society through his role in political, social and economic life. The idea of the research is to study the personality of the cleric who is in the position of the ruling authority with its psychological and social aspects, and to monitor the changes that occur to it through the events of the play, through the conflict between the different styles of the cleric, and the conflict between the ruling religious authority and the socialist revolutionaries, and the extent of the impact of these conflicts on society. The study relied mainly on the social approach; It is the most capable curriculum for understanding the literary text in its comprehensiveness and breadth of meaning. It is also concerned with studying the developments and transformations of different societies according to the environments, circumstances and eras. In addition to relying on the technical approach; In order to highlight the beauty in the play, and the role of theatrical plot and conflict in showing the image of the clergyman, his thought and the development of his personality during the events. The study found the importance of the role of the cleric in social, political and economic life, and his pivotal role in decision-making and influencing the general public, especially if he is in the position of the ruling authority, and that comprehensive reform does not come overnight, but rather requires years of hard work, sincerity and sacrifice. In order to raise the status of the homeland, it also needs the solidarity of all members of the political forces, and to raise the interest of the country above all personal interests and whims.
