Abstract

Islamic architecture has reached a high degree of planning and engineering proficiency in various types of buildings such as mosques, schools, palaces, castles, markets, ligaments and houses. The Muslim Arabs also excelled in city plans, worshiped roads, built canals and built bridges. Islamic architecture accompanied in its civilizational journey Islamic art that honestly reflects creativity and beauty. In its best form, and this is embodied in the prominent Islamic monuments such as the Dome of the Rock, Qusair Amra, and the mausoleum of Mrs. Zumurd Khatun (Sit Zubaydah), which we are going to study today.
They are among the Islamic buildings that date back to the Umayyad era, and they are among the controversial buildings, about determining the identity of the building on the one hand, the name of the person who ordered the building, whether he was a caliph or an emir, the date of construction, and the reason for which these buildings were built.
In this research, we try to review the opinions of specialists in architecture and Islamic arts on this subject, so that we may reach a logical conclusion to reveal the ambiguity that accompanies these important Islamic buildings, and to clarify the role of Islamic architecture and arts in revealing some historical facts.
