Abstract

The research discusses the value of oriental journey literature through the review of Ali Hussein Khairat’s journey so-called Iraqi pilgrim caravan (1289 - 1290 AH / 1872 - 1873 AD), through which the author and his journey will be defined, the most important Residences where he had gone and the organization of the management of the pilgrim caravan journey and its economic aspects, as well as identifying problems and the difficulties that the author faced on his journey. This research aims to monitor the observations of the journey, its events and its relationship to the experiences of the major oriental journey  literature in the 19th century AD, in addition to identifying the religious frame of reference in which this experience was organized entirely. The study relied on the historical and comparative method in order to analyze, evaluate and compare the documents, sources of eastern and western journey, and the local narrative derived from them.
