Abstract

This research revolves around the astronomy of morphological research that takes morphological structures as their subject. Linguists have spoken in their books, starting with Sibawayh, on the structures of nouns, verbs and sources, detailing what they say, their number, the rare and common ones. Ishaq bin Ibrahim al-Farabi (d. 350 AH) put The first dictionary arranged according to the morphological structures, in which a lot of the vocabulary of the language (nouns, verbs and infinitives) was placed and monitored under its morphological structures with a complex and tight system, but it did not come to all the structures of the language, so it left more than the number of scholars and the types that they collected. However, Ibn al-Qatta’ al-Siqilli (d. 515 AH) wrote a book on buildings, and he stated in his sermon that he could not find a linguist who counted the number of buildings, so he wanted to come up with all of them, and mention what the previous linguists left, so he combined, at the number of buildings and Five hundred and a thousand buildings for nouns, verbs and sources - according to his words, a large number compared to al-Farabi, whose number of buildings did not exceed four hundred buildings.
The researcher weighed between the buildings of Ibn al-Qatta’ and the buildings of al-Farabi, trying to search for the reasons for this huge increase, and he reached a number of reasons; Including what is related to the approach that both scholars followed, including what is related to Ibn al-Qatta’s use of his own vision in morphological issues, in contrast to the majority of linguists. Arabic buildings in violation of the rules of Arabization, as well as he had his own vision of using the positions of the letters of the increase within the word, so he generated strange buildings such as (Faalous, Fa'alan, Faluof...etc), and Ibn al-Qata' did not stop at this point, and he continued his transgression on the morphological constants, so he placed the morphological constants, definitions of binary, ternary, quatrain, and pentagonal nouns; In order to serve its purpose in increasing the number of buildings.
The researcher has monitored these reasons, and tried to criticize them in the light of the linguistic efforts, represented in the writings of ancient and modern linguists, so that the criticism is based on scientific foundations, and God grants success and help...
