Abstract

This study is based on the pattern of analytical descriptive studies that measure the relationship between two independent variable variables, the rights of the child and a dependent variable, child labor, with the aim of determining a complete picture of the social characteristics of the children working in the study community. Child labor, the development of a forward-looking vision to reduce child labor and the preservation of their rights within society. The current study is based on the sample social survey method for children working in the city of Al-Hrafain under the age of 18 years. The most important findings of the study were that the majority of working children lack the needs of family caregivers physical care, health and recreation, and lack of care. The results of the analysis of the relationship between the social characteristics of working children and the child labor phenomenon were confirmed by the existence of a significant positive correlation between the family size of the working child and the child's exit to work. (0.05) between the nature of the relationship between parents and the exit of the child to work, as well as between the level of household income and the exit of the child to work. The most important recommendations of the study were a set of preventive measures as an effective measure to establish social programs to provide the necessary support to reduce cases child abuse, establishment of health care programs for the placement of all children under the umbrella of health insurance, assistance to low-level economic families through social protection programs to reduce the child labor of these families.
