Characteristics of the Urban System in Karbala Governorate For the period 1977-1987

The urban system in a continuous interaction between its elements (cities and their environment on the one hand and some with others on the other), and Because of the importance of the urban system in the studies of human geography, because it reflects the nature of the distribution and the spread of population on the cities of the system, which gives a clear picture of the strength or weakness of the system, It also works to diagnose the imbalances in the system if any, which helps decision makers to take the results of such studies into account in order to prepare development plans that stem from the actual need for local urban systems, Thus, the research came up with its problems and hypotheses to contribute to the objective of the research. By applying the quantitative analysis of the laws and formulas of the urban system, there is a flaw in the urban system in the governorate which is a weakness in such systems, as well as the influence of external and internal factors in the formation of the system and the ranks of its cities.
