Abstract

The research dealt with the study of one of the ancient gods of Yemen, which is (the god Ather), The inscriptions showed his position among the gods through his titles, attributes, and rituals that were performed for him, It is distinguished by its general character in Yemen, All the ancient Yemeni kingdoms sanctified him and acknowledged his divinity without having the privacy of any bloc or tribe, This is related to the irrigation process, as it was being pleaded with him to ask for rain.
The god Athtar (Venus) is considered the third pillar of the cosmic trinity in the ancient Yemeni religion, and represents the son of the sun and the moon, Among his most important titles and attributes are Al-Shariq, Dhu Qadb, Dhubyan, Dhu Jawfa.
