This study investigated the subject of mental image of drug addiction in TV drama, The study aimed to provide an explanatory view to shed light on the problem of drug addiction and to identify its causes , the most important effects and consequences thereof. as the study belongs to Sociology of literature. From this standpoint, it aimed to try to determine whether art in general, and the "under control" series in particular, was able to reflect the mental image of the reality of the addiction problem , And the extent to which this mental image is compatible with reality.

The study tried to answer several questions, the most important one was, what are the causes that lead to addiction and its most important effects?. What is the relationship of art to society and how realistic is it? The study relied on the method of contents' analysis in analyzing the series "Under Control". The study also applied an interview questionnaire to a sample of addiction recoveries. The study concluded with several results, the most important one is that addiction increases the chances of corruption and crime spreading.The study also found, through an interview with a sample of recovered persons, that drug abuse has causes that belong to the individual, the family and the society, The study also found that there is a reciprocal relationship between art and society
