Abstract

The study seeks to recognize the social reality of Bedouins in Sinai and its impact on the belongingness and the national security as well.  The applied study is conducted on Bedouins at valley's gatherings in Nowebaa City, as they are considered one of the poorest and marginalized categories in the south of Sinai at all levels. It is a descriptive –analytical study relying on in-depth interviews for collecting data. The study was applied on (50) cases of the residents in Nowebaa, encompassing 18 valleys in which 220 families live (150 families of Mazayina tribe and 70 families of Tarabeen tribe).
The study concluded that the historical marginalization Bedouins in Sinai suffered, especially the Bedouin gatherings' as they do not have any infra-structure or institutional and that the economic activity is obstructed after current tourism recession. All these defects lead to the weakness of belongingness and that push citizens to seek to other alternatives for the social satisfaction. Such satisfaction can be provided by other offending forces; for example, Israel and terrorist groups and that threaten the Egyptian national security. The study recommended that it is necessary to put a comprehensive developmental plan that can incorporate the Bedouins in Sinai within the Egyptian community to sustain the Egyptian national security.
