Abstract

Religious values as a means of important social control is a set of ideals, goals, beliefs, legislations, means, links and standards for individuals and communities, deriving from God Almighty. In other words, it is an important means of social control. Socially speaking, religious values are practiced by society to protect its constituents, preserve its values and resist all deviation factors.
One of the most problematic issues that Arab society has suffered for decades and which has been exacerbated during the last two decades with the expansion of the globalized culture, is the problem of social inability to adopt a unified and well-defined reference to its values and its authority. Arab society is urged to adopt two different parallel valuable references. The first is traditional Islam, an important part of its cultural heritage, while the second is an emerging western one that conflicts with its original reference. This is the most important thing sought by the culture of globalization, namely the conflict between the old and the new, between the heritage (authenticity) and the contemporary.
