Depicting Satan in Christian Art in Egypt During the period from the fourth century AD to the end of the thirteenth century AD

Abstract

Satan is the main cause of evil, as his work is to fight good, and push people to do evil.  Depiction of the Devil appeared through Christian artifacts in Egypt during the fourth century to the end of the thirteenth century AD on various materials, especially wall-painting, manuscripts, textiles and woods. This research aims to focus on the cause of the appearance of the devil or demons affiliated with him in these scenes in addition to the story associated with the scene, then finally trying to interpret the artistic form for devil.
