Abstract

The nationalization of the Suez Canal has been considered as a grand thing  in the Arab Home  for being regarded as an opposition to  the Western  control.  The West has  considered   this decision as a slash directed toward  them for  fear of prevailing  this decision in the Arab Home that subject to the western control.  Since that time,  the French  and British governments  have decided to use  the force against Egypt , but the USA  has not participated with them , where it has preferred  to settle the conflict  peacefully  via conferences . The USA  sees  that the use  of force  could move  Egypt  and Arabs to side with  the Soviet Union.
After   that , it has been held  two conferences in London  after serial of   discussions  and talks  on the results of the nationalization decision, the   French and British  governments  resorted to the  council of security  as to indicate to the global  public opinion  that these two governments  have exerted all means  and there have been  no choice  save  the military  intervention  as that actually started  on 29, Nov,  1956 as that known as triple aggression  against Egypt , by the agreement with  Britain, France  and Zionist entity.
The Soviet Union  has stood beside Egypt  against the aggression, while the USA   has got angry against France and Britain , thus ,  London and  Paris  have subjected to cease  the aggression.
Of what has been mentioned above ,  the current study  will be about  the USA Policy  toward  the Middle East during the cold war.  The current research  has  focused on  the results of  Suez war , where it has been confirmed the increasing revolutionary  movement  in the Arab World  under the presidency of  Jamal AbdulNaser  and to increase his supporters  in the Arab countries .  We could find  from other side ,  the escalation of  Soviet Union  dominance   in the Middle East   bolstering  the  revolutionary national  and liberalized   movements.  In the light of  these variables,  the USA started  to rectifying its stance  toward the region  and has decided to fill  the gap  resulted by  the European  Colonization  dominance retreat ( Britain and  France) . Thus ,  the declaration of the president  (Eisenhower)  about his new policy toward  the Middle East  that being called as  the principle  of (Eisenhower)  that include the preservation of  the independence of  the Middle East nations, submitting economic assistance  and the use of  the armed force  to help any nation  or group of nations  when required from any nation that being subjected to the  communism.
This declaration  of (Eisenhower)  resulted into  devoting  the processes of  polarization to  each of    USA or Soviet Union  and to increase  the  cold war on  two levels  Arabic and international. The Arab region has witnessed  during this period series of  crises  (  Jordan  crisis in 1957,  Syrian crisis in 1957 , and US interference  in Lebanon in 1958) . The attitudes have  been different  by these two grand forces   toward  the struggling  regional parties based on the aggression and  coalition  bases. This period has got ended  in the history of the Middle East by the failure of  the US policy  ( the principle of Eisenhower)  and the idea of  direct military interference has been also ended  from the side of Western  states  in the main region of the Arab Home  in addition to the  great  states recognition  with the  neutrality of  the region.
