Abstract

Conventionally, women suffered as a social category from the fragility of the situation and marginalization, as the children, the elderly and the poor men. Although these sufferings exist in peacetime, however, it become worsen during and after armed conflict, whether internal or between States, because of what brings these conflicts from the scourge in general, and then become the marginalized groups are the most vulnerable to suffering and exploitation and an extended series of violations. Where, women are exposed during armed conflicts to the risk of rape, domestic violence, sexual exploitation, human trafficking, humiliation and sexual mutilation. Faced with this situation, women forced to flee from areas of conflict and armed conflict and find a safe place. Therefore, this study tries to answer the following question: What happened to the Syrian refugees during their trip to Egypt? And what is the situation of Syrian Women as refugees in Egypt, where they came to it after conflicts and armed conflicts that occurred in Syria in March 2011?
The study adopted the qualitative method, and the study was applied to a sample of 20 cases of Syrian refugees and the cases were selected by using the snowballing method, which is based on personal knowledge between researcher and respondent.
The study concluded that the Syrian women as refugees in Egypt are living under difficult economic conditions, because they had lost most of their savings during their escape from Syria, and therefore face a high cost of living and rising prices in Egypt and several Syrian women also face particular difficulties in educating their children.
