cultural background of the traditional Arabic poems' prologues

This research has discussed the cultural background of the traditional Arabic poems' prologues. This has been done through tackling the points of view of ancient and modern critics, in addition to tackling the cultural context which produced them and the cultural paradigms involved in these prologues. Aiming to achieve this, and to present an explanation under which these prologues can be gathered, the researcher has made use of the critical cultural approach, and the latter has led him to reach several conclusions and recommendations, which are:
- The diversity of prologues was due to the momentary experience which the poet had been suffering, beside the convenience of the selected image to the experience of loss. The (woman paradigm) was the main paradigm chosen by the poets to express the incident of loss, and it gave rise to many other paradigms differentiating in their degree of proximity in relation to the main paradigm.
 - There had been a modification to the (woman paradigm). Not only had it been an expression of (the poet's feeling of missing the beloved), but it became a symbol and a title for this (general sense of loss) as well. This paradigm involved both the explicit paradigm of the loss of the beloved and the implicit paradigm of the poet's pains and hopes surpassing the woman's loss to every other experience occupying his mind and may be seen by him as a self fulfillment.
