Abstract

Heritage is of great importance in the life of human societies, as societies in their various diversity derive their experience by describing knowledge as a continuous link that can never be separated.
Despite the importance of heritage, it is a double-edged sword. If the heritage is properly invested, it can become a factor of progress for humanity by benefiting from the experiences of its predecessors. But if it becomes an obsession as a reaction to the failure of societies through comparison with advanced societies, it will stand in this case an obstacle to progress. The wheel of development becomes a curse on societies
The Arab thinker, Muhammad Abed Al-Jabri, had a prominent contribution and role in this field, as he called for the study of the Arab-Islamic heritage as an epistemological study away from ideological influence, whether it was political, social or religious
