Architecture in the Byzantine era in Syria

Abstract

This study aims to: provide an integrated picture of the distinctive features and features in Byzantine architecture in Syria , and also aims to clarify the factors affecting the formation of Byzantine architecture and to present examples of Byzantine architecture in Syria with a detailed explanation of the construction methods used in its construction .
This study uses  the method of analyzing and documenting some historical and archaeological studies of the Byzantine era, especially those related to Syria. The study also analyzed the information received through historical references and archaeological research.
The study reached several results, the most important of which are: Byzantine architecture represents one of the important historical stages in the development of Syrian  architectural civilization, and many factors helped it in that, the most important of which is its geographical location.
The study recommended several recommendations, the most prominent of which are: The necessity of working to expand the research that deals with architecture in Byzantine eras and providing appropriate facilities for researchers to do these researches due to the lack of Arab studies that dealt with this topic in a detailed and accurate way.
