Interculturalism with the other and its impact on the pre-Islamic era

Abstract

This study discusses the relationship of the pre- Islamic people and their cultural communication with the neighboring nations.” The other” has had a prominent role in the formation of the pre-Islamic culture in various types, whether religious , literary or historical .
The subject of acculturation of “ the other” is one of many topics that has forced its way in the psychological and social studies but had never been given any interest or care by the ancient literature , however, they mentioned it through discussing Arabs’ relationship with other nations.
The major question raised by this study is: To what extent the presence of “ The other” interfere in the pre-Islamic poetry?
Not only the main question was raised , but also other few questions. First : What are the means and ways in which the Arab person met “ The other” ? . Second: How did the pre-Islamic poet evoke “The other” in his poetry?
Finally, this study has been limited to acculturation with “ The other” ,the Persian , the Roman, the Abyssinian. Then , it examined the acculturation with the other “religious” .
