This research studies the aspects of "Metatheatre" within the theatrical text "Al Farafeer " to illustrate the most important artistic forms and techniques used by "Idris" in his play as an applied model to his call "Towards an Egyptian theater", Also, studies drama issues reflected within the text, to get to know the most important ideas dramatists looked after , both on the level of form or substance, which contributes to the provision of a new attempt to read the history of the Egyptian theater, explores its abilities and potential, in order to reach the visions of reform and development of theatrical art and overcome the obstacles face dramatists, and to participate in the formulation of the strategic vision of culture and art in Egypt and work to achieve its goals.
