Abstract

This study aims at manifesting the cultural reference of nature's figures of speech. This can be read considering the high percentage of nature's figures of speech in poetic works. And this kind of imagery has been dug deep down in the Arabian creative mind, being employed as a model in praise or satire or whatever poetic purpose. Thus, these figures of speech have been frequently mentioned in the old books of rhetoricates because they represent a cultural context of the ancient Arabian environment.
This study is concerned with the cultural systems stemming from these figures of speech, for example: the sun، the night, the full moon, the fire. It is noteworthy that this kind of rhetorical portrayal reveals the Arabian religious beliefs and thoughts.
