Abstract

During the period of study, a number of natural disasters occurred in Syria, including the outbreaks of epidemics, which were related to agricultural pests. Each disaster has had a profound effect on the population in terms of mortality and destruction of property, and in population activity in agriculture, crafts and all productive elements.
I chose one source, "Nayl al-Amal fi Dhayl al-Dewal" for Ibn Shahin because he was an eyewitness to some of those disasters in Syria where the author of this book recorded a large number of epidemics in Syria as well as agricultural pests and floods.
There is no doubt that these various disasters have formed a challenge to the human being in Syria, which must be highlighted in all aspects of life; the main objective of this study.
