Abstract

This study deals with the relationship of Imam al-Shawkani to the authority of the Qasimian imamate in Yemen, and the convergence of an analytical eye that examines the role of al-Shawkani in the political arena in Yemen, in an attempt to illuminate dark aspects of his personal life that were not disclosed by historical sources, nor modern references, due to the predominance of his jurisprudential and religious personality over his political personality. This study attempted to investigate from the outset his relationship with the Imamate authority prior to his assumption of the position of Chief Judge in 1209 AH / 1794 CE, and then monitored patiently and eagerly into politics after assuming this position, indicating the extent of his influence in the decisions of the Yemeni imams, as well as his dual political role both in domestic politics For the Imamate power or in its foreign policy.
