Abstract

This study addresses the issue of Kuwait's role in enhancing education at the Gulf area, especially the " Oman Coast Emirates ", Al- Sharjah as a model in the period extending from 1917- 1971 G. The study begins with the period where education was traditional religious education until it has started to follow modern principles. Al-Sharjah emirate shall be focused on among the emirates of the "Oman Coast Emirates"since it was the basic nucleus, the first cornerstone and the first cornerstone and the real launch for the introduction of regular modern education systems to all Oman Coast emirates and until they were united and granted their independence in 1971 G.
The study also discusses the role of merchants and Britain's stance towards education in Al-Sharjah emirate and its attitude towards Kuwait. Furthermore, the study also tackles the aspirations of Al-Sharjah governor at that time Sheikh/ Sakr Ben Sultan Al-Kasimi for development and acquiring a role for Sharjah due to the intellectual and cultural movement prevalent at the Arab Gulf area at that time. His invitation to Kuwait governor Sheikh/ Abdallah Al-Salem Al-Sobah in 1953 had a great impact and influence on the emirate and the services offered by the General Authority for South and Arab Gulf. Finally, the study discusses the impact of the educational movement on the development on the development of Al-Sharjah emirate and how the this emirate,s educated sons have had a pioneer role in the education history of the United Arab Emirates.
