Social capital and adoption of the fertility targets included in the National Population Strategy (2015: 2030): A comparative field study of a sample of youth

Abstract

The study aimed to explain the relationship between social capital and the contribution of young people to adopt fertility listed International Strategy of the population (2015: 2030).  The study assumed that, social capital a positive impact on young people to adopt those targets,  and this effect can be seen depending on the levels of social capital on the one hand, and its dimensions on the other hand. Methodologically, the study used the social sample survey, social capital scale, and questionnaire as tools for data collection, the researcher chose  a random sample of (600) young people from non-married couples in the age (18:29), the study found several results including, validity some aspects of the first hypothesis with significant statistical significant differences, as well as the second hypothesis as a whole. Also the majority of young people who coming to the marriage do not support the sufficiency two children only in the future, and that the network of social relations, social participation most influential dimensions in fertility targets.
