Time Management and Its Impact on Production Rates

Abstract

The research problem tackles the fact that time represents one of the most important sources available for human beings. So, this paper attempts to clarify the relationship between time management and the efficiency and quality or type of production. It also sheds the light on the pressures practiced on workers and how they affect their ability to work more and production immensely. Moreover, it explores the different methods any worker can use to manage his or her time. Last but not least, it examines the fact both social and cultural factors play a vital role in how workers make the best use of time. The current research paper has many objectives including: exploring the importance of time for factory workers, tracking or examining the relationship between organizing time and the increase in production rates, illustrating the relationship between work pressures and the ability of workers to work more and increase production, explaining the relationship between work pressures and the quality and efficiency of production in factory, discovering the relationship between work pressures and time management and their effect on production, demonstrating the main reasons for wasting time both inside and outside of the factory. The research follows the case study method as well as the technique of in-depth interview guide. It is applied to the Village of Shabrahour in Daqahlia Governorate on a sample of 75 subjects. Its results involve the following: 1- The importance of time management which is considered as an essential factor that contributes to the increase of production rates. 2- The various forms of time wasting such as administrative and environmental ones. 3- The results of field study show that the subjects emphasize one point that is their work or involvement in industry has changed the way they view time. This is due to the nature of industrial work which forces them to respect deadlines and take care of time
