Abstract

Our study in this research focuses on two main areas: The first: showing the images of the gods in ancient civilizations prepared by the texts of the Old Testament with legacies, which have an impact - upon investigation - in Jewish religious thought, that the living of the Israeli people was under the shadow of those civilizations, such as Egyptian and Babylonian. And other civilizations, and the images of the gods - as a result of that friction - were crystallized in the Jewish thought, and their religious thought and belief with the Lord were entercaled, and they embodied the Lord in images of figures that are similar in names and shapes with the images presented by the owners of civilizations in their temples.

The second: It is the show of the images of the Lord in the books of the Old Testament, and their effect on the Jewish mentality. The books described the Lord with several descriptions, and the research has achieved examples, including: anger and eating fire .
