Abstract

In the name of God, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of God, and upon his family, companions and those who followed him, and after, the historical development of Islamic thought resulted in the emergence of compilations at an early period in which their authors wrote what is related to the definition of the caliphs, and among these are: Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Al-Dunya (d.281 AH) In his book The History of the Caliphs, I liked to study the texts of this book a descriptive study through the texts mentioned by Ibn Asakar in the history of the Damascus City, and al-Khatib al-Baghdadi in the history of Baghdad, and others, and I arranged it according to the following approach:
First: Definition of Ibn Abi the World.

Second: Introducing his book "The History of the Caliphs.
