This study is related to the theater of the absurd, and the dilemmas surrounding this theater at the level of description and meaning, linguistically and idiomatically. The study also reviews the difference in opinions between critics, theorists and translators as well and presents all those opinions. The study discusses the intersections between the circumstances of the creation of the theater of the absurd and the present therefore strengthening its connection to our current reality. On the other hand, this research aims to shed a light on the theme of waiting, because of its repetition in many plays of the absurd. The researcher has used four plays for her data collection, by: Eugene Ionesco, Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter, and Abdel Amir Shamkhi. And the theoretical framework of the research is discourse analysis.
The researcher has concluded several results related to the term of the absurd and its Arabic translation. The study also found many intersections between the circumstances of the emergence of the theater of the absurd and the immediate conditions, at the political, social, and economic level, which were shaped by disasters represented by wars and epidemics, and the social isolation created by social media, which makes the theater of Absurd linked to our reality, and one of the formulas that the writer uses to express his suffering. Finally, the study discussed the theme of waiting, and it concluded that despite the different theatrical models used in the research, it is one of the factors that push the personality to continue, regardless of its different motives
