This piece arrived to the Iraqi National Museum during the recent years. Unearthed by efforts made by Department of Antiquities and Heritage in Al-Kut Governorate (DAH_Wassit), on the bank or valley of the River (Al-Klal) in an area located about 4 km. from Tell AL-Uqair Site in Al-Kut Governorate .
The sculpture stone is registered by the Iraqi National Museum under sequence No.(IM. 157446/ 451). It includes prominent carving of two men unfortunately did not appear their faces only . This theme was known in the artistic works in the Old Babylonian Period (2004-1600 BC.) ; It depicts two men in a symmetrical mode and identical features of their bodies.
As for their apparel, we can see that the details of their faces are not clear due to the corrosion in the upper part of it . The two men seem bearded, they are standing facing each other. We will try to explain this theme and its origins in this study.
