This study aims to identify the reality of the political participation of rural women in the light of social and economic transformation.
The study was conducted in one of the villages of Monofia Governorate . The researcher depended on several methods to achieve the objectives of the study, including the anthropological and historical methods.
The study showed that there is a noticeable change in the contribution of rural women in political life, especially among new generations compared to the older ones. Moreover, the culrural heritage among some of the rural people is still a stumbling block to the progress of women s role in the political life.
