This study investigates the important and vital role of social networks in various aspects of the Egyptian political life and all over the world.
The current study is Acase study was applied on The Re- Election Cycle of The 2012 Egyptian Presidential elections.
Object :This study examines the nature of presidential candidates'uses of social media to be as amodel that demonstrate the political role of social networks .
Methodology: Acontent analysis was held on the official social networking sites of the two Egyptian candidates of the 2012 presidential elections :"Ahmed Shafik" and "Mohamed Morsi".
Findings: the two Egyptian candidates estimated the importance of social networks as acampaign tools . so that the two candidates have official pages on the three major networks ; Facebook ,Twitter and You tube . Twitter was the most site that has been used by the candidate :"Ahmed Shafik" with 45.8% ,then facebook with 43.7% , then youtube with 3.7% .Also facebook was the most site that has been used by the candidate: "Mohamed Morsi" with 24.9% ,followed by youtube with 18.5% , the last one was twitter with 6.9% .
