Osama Ibn Munqith's book Al ?ietibār is considered one of the important books that were written during the Crusades . In this book Osama who was at an advanced age, wrote his diaries and memories that cover a period of eighty years.
This study tackles the features of socail Urbanization in Great Syria as they were represented in this book . Osama sheds som light on the life features of his time when he described the high level of urbanization in Great Syria represented by flourishing agriculture, augmentation of cattle, the great and hight morale of the people regarding fighting the enemies of Islam, the heroic deeds of Islamic Knights, methods of bringing up new generations, in addition to the description of the Franks' morals and nature.
