The research seeks to identify the acceptance or resistance by the two sample groups of infection with Avian Influenza or Swine Influenza; and the extent to which the two samples rely on science and rationality in medical treatment versus having faith in fate and complacency. The research as such explores the predominance of rationality, compared to the widespread supernatural beliefs and emotionality among the members of the two samples; and examines the readiness to accept change compared to holding fast to customs and traditions. The paper comprises findings and conclusions reflecting the results as well as a reference list of the major textbooks used.
