This study aimed to uncover the phenomenon of electronic addiction among adolescents, identify its causes and most important forms, and shed light on its most significant effects on adolescents. To achieve the study's objectives, we used a questionnaire to collect data. The study sample consisted of (100) male and female students in intermediate schools in Baghdad.The sample was chosen randomly and the study concluded with a set of results, the most important of which is that the highest percentage of respondents were using the Internet for (5-6) hours a day, and this is a dangerous indicator that predicts electronic addiction. The study showed that (94%) of the respondents had parents who knew about their use of the Internet. The study also showed that (64%) of the respondents feel annoyed, depressed and bored when the Internet is disconnected.
The results of the study revealed that the spread of the Internet everywhere and the ease of access to it is one of the reasons for electronic addiction at a rate of (69%), while the results of the study showed that (45%) of the respondents were addicted to electronic games.
