Semiotics is a method that allows the researcher a broader range of thought and greater freedom of analysis. It also places greater responsibility on him, as it requires understanding, insight, and interpretation. Perhaps this study will reveal the ability of the semiotic method to approach Arabic poetic texts through a semiotic approach to Ibn al-Rumi's Diwan.
The research consists of an introduction and four chapters. The introduction addresses the importance of the study, its objectives, the methodology used, and the contents of the research. The first chapter defines semiotics linguistically and technically, and the image linguistically and technically. The second chapter addresses the image and the semiotics of sensory correspondence. The third chapter addresses the image and the semiotics of personification. The fourth chapter addresses the image and the semiotics of embodiment. The conclusion includes the most important findings of the study.
