Objective: This study aims to uncover the message that writer Khairi Shalaby is trying to convey to the reader, by providing a critical reading of more than one of the writer's novels in light of three critical schools: realism, semiotics, and narratives of the maqam and the article.
Methodology: This study adopted the method of analyzing the novel text of a number of Khairy Shalaby's selected novels in light of the three mentioned critical schools, in an attempt to uncover the textual structure.
Results: The study found that Shalabi's novels are characterized by depth, by adapting to the three critical schools; the study adopted different methodologies in dealing with the literary text and found that these texts were characterized by richness and flexibility and not rigidity or rejection of multiple methodological templates.
Conclusion: The research concluded that the textual structure of Khairy Shalaby's novels is based on a special narrative language and has the ability to absorb different critical approaches, which explains the aesthetic and influential value of the novel
