This study seeks to Treveal the rhetorical/situational argumentative connections in Abu Salam Al-Kindi's (d. 1960) poetry, based on an accepted reality and a hypothetical reality created by the arguing self, utilising a combination of emotional and rational, quasi-logical constructions to achieve persuasion; to clarify the pivotal role of differential argumentative connections in Abu Salam’s poetry, which enabled him to link the social and complex political reality with the civilizational role that the Omani character should have; and to confirm that the argumentation was not an obstacle to the components of poetry, but rather the speaker was able to combine these two opposites (reason and emotion). The study adopted the descriptive-analytical and the investigative approaches. Its theoretical part reviews the types of rhetorical/situational links based on the structure of reality, such as succession with its causal links, coexistence links between the person and his actions, the argument of authority, and links of metaphorical load between the theme and the carrier. The analytical part studies the links of succession, coexistence and metaphorical load in the poetry of revival, and praise and lamentation primarily by Abu Salam, relying on Perelman’s theory of argumentation in “the rhetorical empire." Theargumentative connections based on reality play a significant role in Abu Salam's ability to formulate a multi-voiced argumentative discourse with others. Some voices are compatible with the poet's goal, while others take an opposing stance based on political polarization. The argumentative connections in his poetry were not built on logical reasoning, but rather on integrating argumentation with poetic imagination to create a stronger impact on the recipient. In addition, the argumentation with its quasi-logical structure was not an obstacle to the components of poetry, and the role of rhetorical/situational links in the coherence of discourse is no less than the role of linguistic links.
