There is a close relationship between poetry and drama. From the womb of poetry, drama is born, and the complete poem is one in whose structure we discern the dramatic line. The interplay between literary genres, based on expression through events, conflict, characters, and masks, is a new construct in the modern era. This new structure in poetic poetry forces it to move beyond the realm of pure lyricism, reportage, and directness, which only targets the poet's self.
This study attempts to shed light on the dramatic features in the poem “Abu Tammam and Today’s Arabism” by the poet Abdullah Al-Bardouni, based on the dramatic features that the poet possessed and spread throughout the poem’s narration and dialogue, which made it a clear phenomenon worthy of study and research. There is no doubt that the inclusion of some or all of the elements of dramatic construction in a poem has a profound effect in ringing the deBy expanding the horizons of poetic vision and igniting the reader's mind in an attempt to break the monotony we
encounter whenever we read poems with a direct lyrical spirit.
