Abstract

This study seeks to explore the movement of Qadizadeh as one of the most significant religious reform movements in the Ottoman Empire during the 17th century. It aims to provide a comprehensive examination of the historical and intellectual circumstances that led to the emergence of this movement, analyze its role in reshaping religious and social life, and assess its influence on Ottoman politics.

The importance of this research lies in shedding light on the reformist tendencies within the Ottoman Empire and the role of Qadizadeh in promoting a strict religious approach based on rejecting Sufi innovations and advocating a return to fundamental principles. The study also addresses the impact of the Qadizadeh movement on Islamic reformist thought and its relationship with Ottoman religious and political institutions.

The research revolves around a central question: How did the Qadizadeh movement contribute to shaping religious reform in the Ottoman Empire? What factors facilitated the spread of its ideas, and what was its impact on Ottoman society, including conflicts with Sufi orders and traditional religious institutions?

This research aims to examine the religious reform movement in the Ottoman Empire and the influence of Qadizadeh, focusing on the key intellectual and religious changes initiated by this reformist movement within Ottoman society in the 17th century.
