Practical intelligence is one of a number of concepts that have received increasing attention from researchers in recent years as an alternative to traditional views on intelligence. The present review focuses on the presentation of practical intelligence and implicit knowledge - as a term that expresses practical intelligence - specifically within the Sternberg Triarchic Theory of Intelligence as one of the modern theories of intelligence that goes beyond the traditional concept of intelligence studied by many researchers over the past century. However, the disclosure of the relationship between general intelligence and practical intelligence has not received similar scientific attention in the Arab studies, and then review the current review of some of the theoretical explanations provided on practical intelligence and implicit knowledge and their relationship to general intelligence with reference to studies that revealed the nature of that relationship.
The review concluded that most of the studies that focused on the study of practical intelligence are based on a preliminary assumption of the validity of the distinction between general intelligence and practical intelligence, and that practical intelligence can better predict the success of individuals in their daily and professional lives. However, the lack of Arab studies that have been interested in studying the nature of the relationship emphasizes that we still need more research, analysis and interpretation
