The Romans believed in life after death, the matter which made them paying considerable attention to the fate of man after death, so they were keen to provide their graves and cemetery with the belongings and needs of the dead such as food, drink and all the tools he/she used in his/her life. They think that the death incident has an impact on the family of the deceased and even all the mourners or consolers and how to deal with the matter in order to get rid of such negative and harmful impact on them. Also, the physical and social situation enjoyed by the deceased has a role in the way and form of the funeral that will be prepared for the deceased.
This method and the way in which the burial of the deceased is adopted would highlight the social and political status enjoyed by the deceased. In addition, the rituals and ceremonies followed in the funeral varied from one nation to another, from era to another, depending on the diversity of culture and their perception towards death. In the funeral, there are fundamental procedures and stages that have been followed which are characterized by special feature as follows:
Preparing the deceased and showing him/her.
Transfer the deceased through the "funeral procession".
Bury the deceased.
