This research discusses the study of the art of apologetics by defining it, its purpose, and its history in general, and then this art started to become known in Iran since The Sasanian Empire in the letter of Khosro Parviz, and after the Islamic conquest in the book of Shikand-gumanig Vizar (Report to raise suspicion). In the sixth Hegira century, it was represented in the apologetics of Ayn al-Quzat Hamadani. He then presents two messages from the Al-Sanāʼī messages as models, namely the sixteenth message and the seventh message. The researcher followed the integrated approach, and relied on the Arabic, Persian and English sources and references.
The research ended with a number of results, the most important of which is that the art of apologetics that appeared to defend ideas, doctrines or beliefs, as well as it has origins in Iran, dating back to the Sasanian Empire. The apologetics purposes were clearly manifested in the two messages from the Messages. He explained in it strong evidence and arguments through the contents of his poetry and the meanings of his prose, and to clarify his Gnosticism ideas; in order to acquitted himself from the charges and fabrications that cast doubt on the validity of his faith and doctrine, and attributed to him heresies. The Al-Sanāʼī apologetics purposes did not differ from the purposes of previous or contemporary apologetics
