Abstract
Educational administration is the science that is concerned with studying and applying the principles and methods necessary to organize and direct the educational process with all its components and parties, in order to achieve the goals of educational institutions.
Educational administration plays a vital role in the success of the educational process, as it is the driving force that moves the school towards achieving its goals.
Educational administration has five functions that are the same as the functions of the management profession (decision-making, planning, organization, guidance/leadership and control), but applied to the educational field or educational institutions.
The educational administration process includes continuous interaction between nine main parties, each party has its role and responsibilities. These parties work together to achieve the goals of the educational process.
The world of education is witnessing radical transformations driven by rapid technological development and social and economic changes. These transformations in turn have formed new trends in educational administration that seek to provide high-quality education that meets the needs of students and the requirements of the changing labour market.
In contrast, educational administration faces a large number of challenges that must be monitored, studied, understood, and plans for prevention and treatment must be developed.
The current research addressed all the previously mentioned topics in some detail, with the aim of shedding light on the origin, definition, objectives, importance, and functions of educational administration and its role in developing educational institutions.
