This paper draws a comparison between Eastern Sufism and English Romanticism, highlighting the relation between the creator and the created in both creeds. The research focuses on the spiritual unity of existence in two renowned poets-philosophers; namely Muhyid Din-Ibn Arabi and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Both Ibn Arabi and Coleridge believe in a spiritual unity of existence that encompasses the universe, endowing it with meaning and sanctity. This belief shows itself in the poets’ concept of man, God and universe. Based on the theoretical framework of the unity of existence, the paper analyzes some poems by Ibn Arabi and Coleridge underlining their concept of epistemology, the origin of the universe, the role of Imagination and organic unity.
