This study sheds light on an important topic in the structure of one of the simple sentences, which is "Casus Pendens". This research interested in the study of parts of sentence, which can be a extraposed part in casus pendens and the pronouns which can take the role of resumptive pronoun in casus pendens.
This research is an attempt to identify the structural factors, which can determine the rules of casus pendens. In this research we will discuss the theories related to the ways in which theses clauses are structured.
The importance of this study lies in its reference to the essence of the casus pendens in the linguistic research. There are two main opinions on the question of nature and structure of the casus pendens. The first opinion states that the casus pendens is a simple sentence from which some syntactic part has been removed and transferred to the head of the sentence. The second states that the casus pendens is a complex sentence in which the extraposed part is the subject and the innovation is the complex predicate.
This research also points to the most important areas in which this type of sentence is used in Hebrew. It also refers to the most important functions of the grammatical structure of the casus pendens, which are identified in this research with six main functions, the most important of these functions: the "emphasis" function, the "stylistic" function, And the "intended ambiguity" function.
