The problem of the current study was to identify the mechanisms for reducing traffic accidents, an analytical studyof the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman to reduce traffic accidents. It aimed to analyze the statistical indicators related to traffic for the past five years, and to identify the efforts made by various parties, and to provide recommendations based on the analysis of current efforts to achieve a greater reduction in accidents.
This study was classified as a descriptive analytical study, based on the social survey method. It used the content analysis tool, and used the qualitative analysis method. It came out with a set of results, the most prominent of which are: that the control, research, media efforts and various initiatives were behind the decrease in accident rates, and at the end of the study, several recommendations were presented that can be used to reduce traffic accidents in the Sultanate of Oman.
