The aim of the research is to identify the difficulties of teaching islamic education to students in the preparatory stage in government and private schools. The researcher adopted a descriptive research approach and the sample included (100) islamic education teachers, (40) teachers in government schools and (60) teachers in private schools. A questionnaire was designed from five areas of (20) paragraphs. The results of the research showed high level of difficulties in government schools and an high level of difficulties in government schools and no differences in the level of difficulties of teaching islamic education for the preparatory stage between private and government schools.The teacher is the cornerstone of the educational process. The teacher is the focus of innovative work. Roberts and Dayre conducted a study that highlights the qualities of a teacher: encouraging students, guiding them, caring for them, improving their behavior, meeting their needs, communicating well with students and parents, and improving their self-confidence (Al-Nusour, 2021:91). Learners’ religious attitudes, as educational studies have confirmed the results that learners are influenced by their students, and the teacher’s education and upbringing of his students should be religious education (Ismail, 2021: 59)
